Kigali is Rwanda’s capital and biggest city. Rwanda, the land of thousand hills, has over 12’000’000 inhabitants and four official languages: English, French, Kinyarwanda and Swahili. Due to innovative homegrown developments one million Rwandans overcame poverty between 2006 and 2011.
The Impact Week in Kigali, Rwanda has started! The special purpose of this week is triggering change that is sustainable. Read more to find out how we are planning to achieve the butterfly effect of change.
In the Impact Week Rwanda, 2018 we are hosting 130 Rwandan students. Actually, this is our second year in Rwanda and we are back here to accomplish a great mission. We want to make the Design Thinking skills sustainable that we seeded last year. We are training local students to empower them to bring the Design Thinking mindset to the local community. We want to trigger the butterfly effect that fosters the innovation spirit and entrepreneurship in Rwanda.
For this impact week in Rwanda, we will focus on the following tracks: agriculture, digital services, smart cities, security, health care, education, transport and logistics, tourism and hospitality, fashion and clothing and e-commerce.
We know that we took a big responsibility! We will achieve this goal with our big family of senior & junior coaches that travelled all the way from Germany, France, Turkey, Venezuela, Brazil, Canada, England, Kenya, Switzerland and Belgium.
So the Impact Week Rwanda 2018 is not only going to make a difference in the life of Rwandan students, but it will also have a big impact on who we actually are.
This great mission couldn’t be achieved without the support of Nestle, Lufthansa Group, SOS Childrens Villages Rwanda, GIZ, Design at Business and Stützpunkt Büro. A big thank you to all sponsors!
