Speakers 2015

Ahmed Maawy is a Shaper with the Global Shapers Community (Which is an Initiative of the World Economic Forum) and an Executive Director with M-Power (CBO) and former Executive Director at The Mombasa Tech Community (CBO). Technology expert working with D8A and Appfrica labs, and a Technology Lead at Abayima. Ahmed is also one of the pioneers in the groundbreaking institution that aims to create a world without boundaries, The Amani Institute's Post Graduate certificate in Social Innovation Management.

Michael Waiyaki is Country Director at GIVEWATTS and currently curator of the Global Shapers Nairobi. „I desire to motivate those I meet to make a difference, live right and give the fullest of their abilities to realize their dreams. I am passionate about the environment and seek to be a part of the movement to bring back nature in its full essence so this generation and generations to come will enjoy harmony with the world around them. I am passionate to see Africa‘s liberation through empowerment of the youth.“

Tomasz Wawrzyniak is the Managing Director at Logisfera Nova, a Service Design and User Experience agency in Poland. He cares about balancing profit and non-profit business.

Magdalene Kelel is a founding member of Kajiado Youth Congress which provides a platform for young people to participate in the democratic process. She is also a Project Manager for an HIV/AIDS project which seeks to build community capacity to identify and respond to vulnerabilities. Magdalene also runs a mentorship program for girls in collaboration with Indigenous People in Action, ans she has started an early childhood center in Oloserian farm.

Emmanuel Dennis Ngongo is a Youth Development Consultant. He is the Country Leader of YES Kenya and the Coordinator of the YES Africa Regional Hub. He is a member of the International Youth Initiative Advisory Board of the Open Society Foundation. Emmanuel has also founded the Green Teams Initiative - a Social Enterprise Business Model to curb climate change and at the same time create revenue streams for employment creation.
