Carlos from Cali joined Impact Week Colombia 2024 — and everything changed. With fresh ideas, new skills, and a boost of confidence, he pitched a plastic-to-energy reactor, landing third place in a local innovation contest. That win opened doors: a scholarship to a global business program, his first full-time job, and even launching a sustainable farming project. His big dream? Buying a home for his mom. Carlos says Impact Week helped him believe in his potential — and inspired him to turn ideas into real impact.

The African Nazarene University, home of the first-ever Impact Week, has successfully run their own Impact Weeks since 2018 – in Kenya and beyond! With the in 2024 newly branded “Innovation Week” that is now held yearly at the ANU, the locals tailored the concept even further to what is relevant for them and included other elements such as the Business Model Canvas. We are incredibly happy to see that the ANU truly become a centre for innovation and continue using and spreading Design Thinking!
