In Jordan, a country known for archeological treasures such as Petra, its unique culture, and astonishing landscapes, youth unemployment is a major challenge. In 2023 youth unemployment reached 40.8% (Statista, 2024), hindering economic growth and social stability. Together with our local partners IBTECAR and the University of Jordan, we gave entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, and sustainability the center stage, inspiring local youth to drive change!

Despite the tense situation in the Middle East, the event in Jordan was a full success, inspiring new friendships and creative ideas in the tracks Digital Transformation in Education, Public Health, Sustainable Tourism, Sustainable Solutions for the Food Water Energy (Nexus) and Unemployment!

Even though the Impact Week couldn’t proceed as originally planned due to a nationwide mourning period, the organizing team managed to adapt and create a special event in challenging times. We hope that we were able to create a safe space for our participants and make them feel empowered in times when some events seem out of our hands.

We thank our local partners IBTECAR and the University of Jordan as well as all parties involved such as the DAAD, the Goethe Institute, and GIZ.
