For Michael, Junior Coach at Impact Week Ghana 2023, that sentence came during an empathy interview in our design thinking training.
A young girl shared she would only go to school if she had access to menstrual pads.
That moment planted a seed: a responsibility to act.
Where Ideas Meet Courage
During Impact Week, Michael worked with a team of Junior Coaches exploring how young women could participate fully in school despite the barriers of menstruation.
Through interviews and hands-on testing, the team listened, learned, and co-created early solutions with the girls themselves.
The spark came during prototype testing, when excitement and curiosity showed that the idea mattered deeply.
This was the moment a workshop exercise began its evolution into Crimson Liberation Hub.
From Prototype to Purpose
Crimson Liberation Hub didn’t emerge to “provide pads.”
It emerged to restore dignity, expand opportunity, and empower girls to stay in school.
Today, it delivers:
- Locally made reusable pads
- Menstrual health education
- Jobs and income for women
A small idea, rooted in empathy, now shapes lives across communities.
